The photographs on this site have been taken from the archives of David Greenaway, Shirley’s father and a relative of Kate Greenaway who was one of the most popular illustrators in the world at the end of the nineteenth century.

David embarked on his artistic ventures in his forties and painted prolifically for over twenty years. His photographs often won awards and gave him the inspiration for his stunning oil paintings.
